Platinum Games’ mysteriously monikered Project P-100 didn’t even get a look in at Nintendo’s E3 press conference, which is a shame because it’s hands down the most intriguing Wii U launch window title we’ve laid eyes on yet. A little bit Pikmin and a little bit street brawler, you play a bunch of superheroes banding together to keep the city safe. The twist is that you control your superhero horde - which can grow to hundreds of people in size - simultaneously. This undulating group of avengers can merge together with a couple of GamePad screen swipes to turn into a giant fist or blammy gun to take down the ridiculously huge and beautifully designed alien marauders that get in your bath. The whole thing feels great to play on the new controller, looks sumptuous with its bright, breezy art style and is just utterly joyful once you’ve got your head round its idiosyncrasies. Definitely one to keep an eye on as its release draws nearer.
